List of Jaana Pehchana Movie Reviews

Ten minutes into the film and you will have a jaana pehchaana feeling. That's because the Rajshri banner, known for remaking its own films, for a change attempts a sequel. But the sequel, more or less, turns out to be a remake or rather rerun of the original. So in this sequel to their 1978 film Ankhiyon Ke Jharoke Se , almost 80% of the screen-time is an exact replay of the original film. The film is replete with regular Rajshri brand elements like conflict-free screenplay, convenient writing and slow pacing. Also there are customary characters like the doting Ramu kaka and a gajar-ka-halwa making neighbour. And god forbid, even Lily's spirit is revoked in the climax. Irrespective of whether you have watched Ankhiyon Ke Jharoke Se or not, it's no point seeing the sequel. Eyes wide shut for this! Read moreReview by:Martin D Souza Site:Glamsham Ratings:2/5
Sachin and Ranjeeta are back on screen together again. Their performance in ANKHIYON KE JHAROKHON SE, Rajshri production's 1978 hit, has prompted JAANA PEHCHANA. The production house may not say it, but this is a sequel to that movie. This movie is for old-timers who have soaked in the brilliance and freshness of the lead pair of that time. A newcomer, will not be able to make much sense, even though the film is replete with scenes from the old hit. In fact, almost three-quarters of the films is ANKHIYON KE JHAROKHON SE. Like I mentioned earlier, strictly for lovers of the 1978 hit. Read moreReview by:Preeti Arora Site:Rediff Ratings:2/5
Somewhere in the '70s the Barjatyas' discovered their formulae. Routine mundane stuff which generally was the theme of every off-beat film canned those days. Undying love, family needs before self-gratification, dire consequences for those earn money by unscrupulous means and all that blah. Perfectly timed for the era they were set in. These simple stories, devoid of violence and passion made Rajshree Bros one of the leading production houses. Even after thirty years, they obviously believe things haven't really changed. But those eternal optimists -- who are out there waiting for their second chance, believing their knight in shining armor is just around the corner -- will definitely appreciate Jaana Pehchana. And the Barjatyas will continue to make similar films no matter how passé the plots appear to us. Read more.read more
