Bodyguard, his latest, is another lazy remake (of a Malayalam film) that banks squarely on the actor’s considerable charm to make up for its archaic plot, sluggish pace, and puerile humor. Bodyguard suffers from that most fatal flaw that’s unforgivable in the final reckoning – it’s boring!.I’m going with two out of five for director Siddique’s Bodyguard. No question it’s going to make a lot of money at the box-office, but you have to be a die-hard fan to forgive this film its many flaws. The rest must resign themselves to the fact that there’s truth in that dialogue Aditya Pancholi’s character says about our hero in the film: “Iska time accha chal raha hai.”Read more

BODYGUARD presents Salman exactly the way we expect him to be presented, but, at the same time, the film brings back memories of the soft, romantic roles that Salman essayed in his initial films. What makes the film tick is that Salman and director Siddique have done something hatke within the limitations of the typical Bollywood formula, which, I am sure, should appeal to the Hindi movie buff abundantly. On the whole, BODYGUARD works for varied reasons -- it has a simple, but captivating story with a dramatic twist in the tale, the chemistry between the lead actors is perfect and the music is well juxtaposed in the narrative. But its biggest USP is, without doubt, Salman Khan. He carries the film on his broad and brawny shoulders and that alone is the imperative reason for watching this film. BODYGUARD should emerge his third festive hit and fourth super-success at the ticket window. Expect a hurricane called BODYGUARD to strike at the box-office.Read more

A Salman Khan film almost always defies all logic, simply because it follows its own norms at the box office, irrespective of the quality of the product.Bodyguard opened to an uproarious crowd, but all the din could not drown the fact that this one's mostly a non-happening film with a first half that gets extremely repetitive and boring.
The film, a remake of a South Indian hit, may end up as another blockbuster, like most Salman films have been doing in the recent past. Yet, sadly, this one's mostly bluster.Only for diehard Salman Khan fans, Bodyguard has nothing to offer to the fastidious cineaste.

A standard entertainer with generic ingredients like action, emotion, romance, comedy, song and dance, the Hindi remake of Malayalam super-hit Bodyguard is like a mediocre Pizza Margherita that's gone stingy on the mozzarella, bland on the sauce with nothing except a half-crunchy base and uneven scattering of basil leaves. It's not like Bodyguard is devoid of fanciful thrills but they're far too few and in between.Ultimately, it's the Salman's undeniable presence coupled a rare ability to mock himself and Kareena's hard-hitting radiance in a role she would excel in even if she sleepwalked through it that makes Bodyguard seem a tad better than it actually is Read more

Here's what this film's super-star should do next. Pick up, remake every regional blockbuster of Rajnikanth's from the recent past. That's what super-hero, cartoon character Salman is to the Hindi audiences by now: Rajnikanth for the excitable North. I don't merely mean this for their films' genre. Try uttering a word against either on the Internet. You'll get suitably acquainted with the fatal consequences of sheer blasphemy. I know, I will, it's scary. Bodyguard, please? Thank you.Read more

Eid is the time for a Salman Khan blockbuster and you expect a film replete with dialoguebaazi, maardhar and some outrageous moments that are made enjoyable due to Salman’s ability to pull off the zaniest scripts. It’s amazing that writer-director Siddique has made a success of the same story twice before (He remade it in Tamil as Kavalan, starring Vijay), and the Hindi Bodyguard seems set to strike big too. But unquestioning Salman fans — who turn out in hordes to watch his films, ensuring producers laugh all the way to the banks in the process — deserve better. But sadly for them, even Salman Khan isn’t reason enough to endure Bodyguard. Pity.Read more

Of course, whether you find Bodyguard entertaining or not will hinge entirely on whether you have any patience for a storyline that is as brainless as a pea. The story soars on the wings of wild whimsy without for once letting logic getting in the way.In the ultimate analysis, Bodyguard is an out-and-out Salman Khan film meant to be taken in the festive spirit of the season. Love it or lump, chances are that its backers will be laughing all the way to that bank while you, if you aren’t willing to give its excesses a long rope, will be tearing your hair out in exasperation.Read more

Watching the movie with the audience 'first-day-first-show' is the actual barometer of how the film will fare and this performance will to put to rest all those baying for Salman's blood. This guy had done a bloody good job. Mind you, I am no fan of Salman but cannot help applauding his performance in BODYGUARD, which has to be one among his best. It's Salman all the way with Kareena Kapoor bringing in the brilliance of Geet from JAB WE MET. Mention must be made of Tsunami, a character who entertains without being a jerk.Read more

Anyone who has watched Khan's recent movies will recognise the signs -- a killer dialogue which will be remembered till the next blockbuster is manufactured, a signature ring tone, and a pre-fight ritual-in this case, it is taking off his watch. The familiarity is somewhat comforting. The fort where the climactic action scene is staged, with Aditya Pancholi as a worthy opponent, has appeared in Wanted.he viewer is not enthralled but bhaijaan has done the best that his comic strip straitjacket could allow him. It helps that Kareena Kapoor doesn't break into giggles when he plays the tentative lover.Read more

What’s Good: Salman Khan’s endearing character; his performance; the mass-appealing action and comedy; the well-tuned music and well-choreographed songsWhat’s Bad: The half-baked screenplay; the unanswered questions that leave the audience with a feeling of incompletenessVerdict: Riding on Salman Khan’s wave of popularity, Bodyguard will prove to be a box-office hit.Loo break: Not really.Watch or Not?: Watch Bodyguard for Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s performances.

Bodyguard is remake of Malayalam movie with the same name, which is a romantic-action film. Salman Khan's rocking performance is the main attraction of the movie. Rajat Rawail's comedy timings, Himesh Reshammiya and Pritam's music, Sejal Shah's cinematography, Vijayan's action sequences and beautiful costumes and act direction are the other highlights of the film. Overall, Bodyguard is a good masala entertainer and it can be a perfect time-passer for this Eid and Ganesh festive seasons. Salman's fans should not miss to watch this movie.Read more

‘Bodyguard’ has a unique love story attached to it and with its release it turns out to be so true. The audience who till now expected the film to be yet another Salman starrer no-brainer action comedy better get the facts right as the action star is back to his lover boy image.film reminds you of his romantic films that ruled the roots in his peak years as chocolate boy. And apart from Salman, Kareena’s claims too have proved fruitful as her character in the film is not just a love interest of the protagonist but it is equally parallel in terms of lead. The film is a perfect family entertainer and an ideal release for a festive occasion. ‘Bodygard’ will successfully enthrall you to the core. .Read more
