AAZAAN undertakes a grave issue, a theme that has never been depicted on the Hindi screen earlier. Besides, director Prashant Chadha attempts to narrate the story in a style that's reminiscent of the BOURNE series. An espionage thriller that travels various continents. On the brighter side, AAZAAN is embellished with a harmonious musical score [Salim-Sulaiman]. The background score, also composed by the maestros, is electrifying. In addition, the stunts, chases and combat sequences are spectacular. Also, since the film has been filmed across continents, it boasts of some stunning and dazzling visuals [DoP: Axel Fischere]. To cut a long story short, AAZAAN comes across as an assemblage of several well executed sequences, but the sheen and shimmer cannot surrogate for a spellbinding screenplay. On the whole, AAZAAN boasts of a novel theme [Bioterrorism] and superb action scenes/stunts/chases is its biggest USP. But the film could've done with a taut script. Nonetheless, AAZAAN should find some flavor with lovers of action movies. Read moreReview by: Daily Bhaskar Site: Daily Bhaskar Ratings: 2/5
Azaan seems like a beautiful journey in the beginning, but no sooner you discover that the destination looks foggy, it disappoints you. The story loses its threats and looks far from convincing. The vague incidents occurring and poor characterization of few key-roles take away the excitement attached to the action-drama spanning different countries. If you overlook the storyline, the treatment is definitely Hollywood-ish. Action, stunts and dare-devil sequences act as a catalyst to a highly baffled storyline.Actions lovers might have a reason to spend money, but people who demand strong storyline BEWARE! Different countries, high voltage action and Playboy cover girl Candice Boucher on a beach for few seconds can be another credible ground on which you can push yourself to grab a seat. Shabby story treatment takes away the motive from the film, making it utterly tasteless. It’s a beautiful cake with no sugar! Read moreReview by:Sukanya VermaSite:Rediff Ratings:1/5
Mere sar par Allah ka haath hai aur iske sar par Allah ka haath hai,' lead actor Sachiin Joshi mouths this dialogue in the film and one hopes that it holds true for the film Aazaan because only God can save this movie from becoming a dud at the box-office.This film is one jerky ride as it keeps on jumping from one country to another for no rhyme or reason -- Poland, Germany, Hong Kong and Morocco among them. The only reason MAY BE you can watch this film, is for this world tour and Alex Fisher's cinematography. Read moreReview by:Saibal Chatterjee Site:NDTV Ratings:3.5/5
As we see rescue operations post a bombing attack being carried out in slow motion, the soundtrack goes almost inert in a show of frozen protest…And you know there and then that Azaan has something out-of-the-ordinary to offer to the action genre.Azaan is not a film which wastes time in self-congratulation after staging one more terrorist explosion. It moves on relentlessly. The world has to be saved. Self-importance is miraculously averted.Read moreReview by: SuperGoodMovies Site: SuperGoodMovies Ratings: 2/5
Azaan is about Azaan Khan (Sachiin Joshi), an Indian of Afghan origin who is trained at the NDA and is RAW’s secret agent. The feel of the film is very international as it is shot at the most exotic locations of the world. But the mediocre dialogues and a confused storyline lets it down. Adding the love track between Azaan and Afreen (Candice Boucher) was not explained well and seemed rather unnecessary. The film seemed a little emotionless as the lead star.Plus points: Cinematography, locations.Minus points: - Performances, confused screenplay.Final verdict: once watch Read more
